The world was hit with heavy news this November. Joe Frazier, 67, the former heavyweight boxing champion lost his fight with liver cancer on November 7, 2011. He is most infamous for his fiery rivalry with boxer Muhammad Ali. At Madison Square Garden in March 1971, he was the first man to beat Ali. After losing to Ali the second time around, and George Forman shortly after, Frazier hung up his gloves. Frazier is remembered for his great left hooks and as one of the greatest heavy weight boxers. Just a day later, Dwight Arrington Myers, better known as Heavy D, passed away. The 44 year old 90’s rapper collapsed outside of his Beverly Hills home in Los Angeles and was rushed to a nearby hospital and later pronounced dead shortly after. In his life he was a rapper, actor, record producer, singer, and former leader of Heavy D & the Boyz. We remember these two greats.
