In his excitement after executing a dunk, Peace celebrated a little too hard. As Harden moved past him, Peace swung his arm to meet the side of Harden’s head. The guard for Oklahoma City fell to the ground and World Peace was removed from the court.

The resurrection of  Tupac, who was murdered in 1996,  occurred in front of a full audience at this year’s Coachella.

The hip-hop legend, according to the seven day theory, was supposed to return in 2003 — seven years after his death. Tupac was shot  on September 7, seven days after releasing “All Eyez on Me”. He died seven days later from internal bleeding.

Though many were disappointed that the ‘Hail Mary’ rapper has yet to rise from the dead, at least fans were able to see him on stage again this past weekend.

The show featured performances from Dr. Dre , Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Wiz Khalifa — among others. Tupac, however, definitely stole the show.

Zimmerman argued that Martin broke his nose and pounded his head into the ground. In defense, he shot the 17-year-old in his chest.

Rueter’s reported that the 28-year-old’s neighbors saw his bruises. Jorge Rodriguez and his wife, Zimmerman’s next door neighbors, told detectives about what they witnessed. “He had two big, butterfly bandages on the back of his head, and another big bandage…on the bridge of his nose,” said Mr. Rodriguez.

These accounts of Zimmerman’s injuries could possibly influence the effectiveness and outcome of his defense. America has already seen a friend come to Zimmerman’s aid with no success.

Steve Harvey will not only be an actor on the movie screen next weekend but the voice behind it .

A member of the Howard University radio family, Harvey has been giving women advice via his radio show for years. So when the actor/comedian revealed “what men really think about  about love, relationships, and commitment,” in Act Like A Lady Think Like A Man, the book was an immediate bestseller.

Now, the book has been turned into a film starring Kevin Hart, Tariji P. Henson,Gabrielle Union, Michael Ely, Meagan Good,  and Terrence J.

The film follows the lives of four men who are all involved with women who’ve begun taking the advice in Harvey’s book. They one by one discover that the women have been playing by another man’s rules and set out to get revenge.

The movie hits theaters April 20, 2012. Watch the trailer below:

The ad was almost immediately lambasted for pushing African American stereotypes and was pulled from the restaurant’s YouTube page for licensing issues. Though it was only a snippet of the unfinished commercial, the video went viral and was made into remixes.

A survey done by Brandex shows that after the commercial’s debut BK’s popularity in the African American communitry dropped by 31 points.

Burger King, recently fell below it’s usual ratings, as the second most popular burger chain. They recently released a new menu. David Beckham, Salma Hayek, and Jay Leno are also said to be featured in new ads for the menu.

The trailer for ‘Sparkle’ debuted on NBC’s “Today” show on Monday, giving fans a minute-long sneak peak of what can be expected from the late Houston’s performance.  Set in the MoTown era, Houston plays a mother to three girls destined for stardom. Sisters played by Jordin Sparks,  Tika Sumpter and Carmen Ejogo are determined not to make the same mistakes as their single mother.

Whitney Houston’s comeback was cut short by her death on February 11, 2012 — three months after filming ended.

The newest addition to “Two and aHalf Men”, Ashton Kutcher is set to play one of the most influential men of our time. Production for the film about Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs is set to begin in late May.

The independent Indie film,  ”Jobs,” will document the life of Steve Jobs from his backpacking days in India to the founding of Apple.  Though it was suspected to be an April fool’s joke, it was confirmed by CNN on Monday that Kutcher had indeed accepted the role.

CNN.com reported last fall that Sony was coming out with its own Steve Jobs film, which may pose as competition to first time producer Mark Hulme, who is also financing the project. After the death of the mogul, Sony acquired rights to Jobs’ authorized biography that was written by Walter Isaacson.

The main character of the book-turned-film, Katniss, is described to have straight black hair and olive skin. Jennifer Lawrence, an actress with blonde hair and blue eyes nabbed the part and just dyed her hair darker. If fans were okay with that, why such outrage when characters Rue, Thresh, and Cinna more closely reflected the profile outlined by creator Suzanne Collins?

“The boy tribute from District 11, Thresh, has the same dark skin as Rue, but the resemblance stops there. He’s one of the giants, probably six and half feet tall and built like an ox,” Collins wrote. “Dark skin” is what the novelist specified . Nonetheless, that didn’t stop Hunger Games fans from taking to twitter to air their frustrations.  One fan said that the movie was “ruined” because of Rue being played by a Black girl. Another, said that Rue’s death wasn’t as sad after discovering her to be played by 13-year old Amandla Stenberg. One person even goes so far as to tweet, “Eww. Rue is black? I’m not watching.” These are not a few isolated instances. The posts go on and on. So much so that some users, after much criticism, seem to have deleted their entire twitter accounts. Stenberg goes on to be called a “black b****”, a nigger, and placed in the middle of these supposed fans mis-guided frustrations.

In the rise of the Trayvon Martin case, is it safe to say that the raw thoughts and emotions of these movie-goers mirror the state of America? These viewers clearly held an affinity for Rue. To discover her to be Black, however, now shatters their distorted image of what they thought she should be and reveals their attachment to this character to be unneeded.

If fans would have known how their favorite characters were to be portrayed, would the series be as popular?

The Hunger Games tumblr blog was the first to point out the trend of biggotry.

“These people are MAD that the girl that they cried over while reading the book was “some black girl” all along. So now they’re angry. Wasted tears, wasted emotions. It’s sad to think that had they known that she was black all along, there would have been [no] sorrow or sadness over her death. ….There are major tie-ins to these reactions and the injustices that we see around the world today…This is a BIG problem. Think of all the murdered children. Think of all the missing children that get NO SCREEN TIME on the news.”

In the case that has brought yet another outrage to America, new information has surfaced.  Though George Zimmerman has yet to be arrested for shooting unarmed teen Trayvon Martin, he and his team are lashing back.

According to his lawyers, 28 year old Zimmerman was in a “life or death struggle” when he shot Trayvon Martin for being suspicious.

Zimmerman told police that he had been walking back to his car when Trayvon challenged him and then punched him in the nose. After falling to the ground, he claimed that the teenager climbed on top of him and slammed his head into the sidewalk.

An African American friend of Zimmerman’s, Joe Oliver, has made a series of  appearances cosigning. Oliver “The bottom line is there was a life-and-death struggle in that instance and someone was going to die,” Oliver said on The Today Show.

Yet, witnesses told NBC that they heard screaming before the gunshots.

Claiming that she wants a revamped image to accompany her upcoming album, the diamond princess says she wants to “transform everything.”
